Vehicle extinguishing systems

Vehicles including wheel loaders, mining vehicles and buses always involve a certain risk of fire. Overheated engines, hydraulic pumps or residues of hydraulic oil are highly flammable in combination with heat. Not only is the driver and, in the case of buses, are the passengers at risk, the very high acquisition costs of the vehicles are also at stake. Fires often cause serious damage to property, which can be followed by extensive renovations and downtimes of several weeks. Apart from the production downtimes, most vehicles can never be put back into operation after a fire.

APPLICATION AREAS

  • All vehicles in mining (aboveground and underground)
  • Means of transport (buses, trains, etc.)
  • All types of vehicles on construction sites (e.g. cranes)
  • Agriculture (e.g. combine harvesters, harvesters)
  • Forestry (tree felling machines, etc.)
  • Transport (e.g. container shifters, forklifts)
  • Landfills (e.g. wheel loaders, garbage presses)

This is only a few possible locations. In principle, any vehicle or machine can be protected with the systems when it comes to protecting engines, hydraulic pumps, etc. The acquisition costs of such vehicles and machines are usually very high and therefore it is important that they are always ready for use, usually even 24 hours a day. Therefore, the protection of these devices should always be effective and reliable.

EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS ANSUL A-101 AND LVS

The Ansul A-101 and LVS extinguishing systems have been specially developed for use in vehicles. The Ansul A-101 and LVS systems, or in combination, work so quickly and reliably that no major damage can occur in the first place.

If the extinguishing system is activated automatically via automatic fire detection or manually by means of a manual trigger, the extinguishing agent is evenly distributed with special nozzles to the estimated areas, such as the engine compartment and / or to hydraulic units. This ensures that the flames cannot spread in an uncontrolled manner, and at the same time prevents reignition. In the event of a triggering, motors and pumps must be switched off with the help of potential-free contacts provided by the system, so that further leakage of liquids and thus the reignition of the source of the fire via reheating is prevented.

ANSUL A-101 POWDER EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM

The vehicle extinguishing system Ansul A-101 extinguishes every fire quickly and reliably with a universal powder extinguishing agent. The various sizes of extinguishing agent containers (4.5 kg up to 113.4 kg) and the permanently installed nozzle system on the A-101 ensure a high degree of flexibility, so that both a complete engine compartment or only certain areas (hydraulics, pumps, tanks, etc.) are specifically protected.

The systems are triggered either automatically, using a specially developed fire detection and control system, or they can also be activated manually using a manual trigger. Both trigger variants are possible individually or in combination. The LT-A-101 system expands the application possibilities of the A-101 system for use under extreme conditions from -54 ° C to 99 ° C.

ANSUL LVS LIQUID EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM

The LVS liquid extinguishing agent prevents reignition of flames. LVS cools down the area around the source of the fire and helps contain fires.

ANSUL LT-A-101 / LVS COMBINED EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM

The TWIN system is an ideal solution for extinguishing fires quickly and preventing them from spreading or reignition. In this case, the LT-A-101 and LVS systems are combined.

CHECKFIRE FOR VEHICLE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS

Fire detection for vehicles poses a major challenge and is a significant investment in the protection of life and property. The ANSUL CHECKFIRE fire detection and control system offers a cost-effective solution for protecting vehicles that are subject to extreme environmental and physical conditions. These include vehicles for forestry and agriculture, waste disposal, aviation, goods transport and especially passenger transport. The system was developed for use on vehicles on the road as well as in the field and for operation in underground / tunnel construction.

The CHECKFIRE system offers the option of triggering an extinguishing system electrically and / or optionally pneumatically. The CHECKFIRE system is usually used in vehicle extinguishing systems A-101 and LVS from Ansul, which guarantee 24-hour protection of the vehicles.
